Milo Murphy’s Law
I know what we’re gonna do today! Write all about how excited I am about this new show coming out from the minds of Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, creators of the popular show Phineas and Ferb.
Milo Murphy’s Law will follow the adventures of Milo who is the fictional great-great-great-great grandson of the original Murphy’s Law’s namesake, who suffers from “Extreme Hereditary Murphy’s Law Condition.” For those of you that don’t know what Murphy’s Law is it basically boils down to this “If something can go wrong, it will” Poor kid. However, he will have a very optimistic outlook at his misfortunes. To me, that’s great, because I believe kids need to see that when life can be cruel and hard that having a cheerful outlook can help overcome even the worst situation. Good friends help too! Milo won’t be alone as he battles his issues. He’ll have friends like Melissa Chase (voiced by Sabrina Carpenter) and Zack Underwood (Mekai Curtis) to make the best of his catastrophes. Milo also seems to borrow from the boy scout motto “Always be prepared” because he always carries a backpack FULL of supplies to get him out of any jam.
On top of this terrific idea for a show, it also has another very cool aspect to it. Milo will be voiced by none other than “Weird Al” Yankovic! This is extremely exciting news to me because I’ve been a HUGE Al fan since I heard him poking fun at Michael Jackson’s Bad with his version Fat. I cannot wait to see how Al brings Milo to life. This isn’t Al’s first step into voice acting either. Take a look at the characters he’s voiced in the past:
Guys, apparently, I'm gonna be voiced by Weird Al Yankovic. AWESOME.— Milo Murphy (@MiloMurphysLaw) August 15, 2015
Al’s been at it for a while it would seem. However, I think this is the very first time he’s voicing the lead in a show. Milo’s Law will also have a ton of original (and probably hilarious) music that “Wierd Al” will also sing. On top of all of this is the outstanding supporting cast they’ve pulled together for Milo’s Law. Variety reports Christian Slater (“Mr. Robot”) will play Milo’s enemy, a school crossing guard named Elliot Decker; Vanessa Williams will be Zack’s mom, Eileen Underwood; Sarah Chalke (“Scrubs,” “Ricky and Morty”) is science teacher Mrs. Murawski; Jemaine Clement (“Flight of the Conchords”) will hopefully also be singing as popular TV character Dr. Zone; Mackenzie Phillips (“American Graffiti,” “One Day at a Time”) is Principal Milder — and that’s just half the cast.
The show is set arrive on Disney XD sometime in 2017.
